It does reduce the security of the phone if it is on a magnetic mount in the car - they could add this and it would be excellent
The buckle replaced the vent clip that was actually useless in the round vents in a 2017 mercedes. With some careful prying up of vent bases the buckle holds phone holder perfectly so happy with the better option.
