Product Details
1. As an auxiliary tool for diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical and electronic systems.
2. Designed to connect the vehicle to a host PC computer application for data transfer and Electronic Control Unit (ECU) reprogramming via MDI 2.
3. The MDI 2 is backward compatible, allowing for pass-through programming of all vehicles manufactured since 1996 using the J1962 connector and DLC cable via standalone (USB) and dealer network (CAT5) connections. The MDI 2 connects to the PC via standalone (USB) and dealer network (CAT5).
4. Features a new, more secure Type B connector and ground offset fault protection. A wired connection is recommended for longer programming operations.
5. Powered by the vehicle battery via the DLC cable; it can also be powered via a USB connection, allowing for firmware updates using only a computer.
6. Uses USB 2.0 for faster firmware downloads without the need for a separate AC power supply.
